The Polk County Library Cooperative is a partnership between the Polk County Board of County Commissioners and the City of Lake Wales and other municipalities in our county. Library membership is available to all Polk County property owners and residents. Application for membership at the Lake Wales Public Library automatically entitles you to library privileges at any other library in Polk County. An applicant residing outside of Polk County will be assessed a $35 per household registration fee for an annual membership in the Polk County Library Cooperative. The out-of-county membership fee does not apply to Lake, Osceola and Orange County residents and to library card holders in the Tampa Bay Library Consortium's Reciprocal Borrowing program listed in the link below. These residents can use their system's valid library card to obtain a PCLC card at no charge under our reciprocal borrowing agreement. Some restrictions apply. Seasonal residents of Polk County are entitled to PCLC membership at no additional charge.
