Pinwheels for Prevention

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and in support of this initiative, Pinwheels for Prevention have been placed in front of the City Municipal Administration Building and Police Department to symbolize the winds of change.
Participation
This month and throughout the year, the Lake Wales Police Department would like to encourage all individuals and organizations to play a role in making Lake Wales a better place for children and their families.

By ensuring that parents have the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to care for their children, we can help promote children's social and emotional well-being and prevent child maltreatment within families and communities.

A report of child abuse occurs every ten seconds. While we must never reduce our efforts toward addressing child abuse that occurs, please join us in the effort to prevent it from ever happening.
